The rules allow me to castle but the site won't let me. Kind of frustrating. Is there a bug?
Please post one of the games... and tell us when you were trying to castle.
Was it after you moved your king or rook? You can't castle after either has moved.
Was your king in check? You can't castle out of check.
Would your king move into or through a square being checked? You can't castle.
Were the knight and bishop out of the way? Hopefully you know this.
I'm thinking it definitely a bug guys. I know all the rules notmtwain mentioned. Last 20 games I couldn't castle. I'll post a game in a few minutes.

Hopefully, it fixes itself I guess. It's like playing with a handicap or something, which might be a good idea.
How are you trying to castle? Moving the Rook first won't work. The only allowed method is to move the King two squares toward the Rook, and then the chess.com api will complete the move for you.
Also, depending on the device, the browser, and the version of the site you're using, you might encounter a little bug where if you try to move the king (or rook) nothing happens, or it appears on the 7th rank (if you're black) as soon as you touch it and it won't go on the 8th. If you encounter something like this, press on the square directly above the king or the rook (a square on the 7th rank) and it will activate the piece, then move it accordingly, that is to the square just above where you intend to move it.
Example: you're playing black and you're ready to castle kingside, but the king piece won't activate or it's appearing in strange places, just grab the e7 square and as you move so should the king, then drop it on g7 (or g8 if it works).
