I have this problem with masters in OTB games, I can get a very good position then end up somehow blowing it and losing under time pressure. Getting better for me though. grin.png

I think the biggest difference between good players and great players is concitency, great players can keep the same level of concentration for the entire game and for continuous games, good players can usually play just as well as the great ones, but not for the entire game. Playing chess is tiring on the mind for longer games, it's all about finding a way to keep the concentration going on full blast.

If you play enough bullet games.
This problem disappears.

But at the same time, bullet chess weakens heavy thinking for positions that don't have time pressure!

When i play on chess.com, i always do well even against higher rated people becuse i take my time, but then under time pressure i blunder. If it wasnt for that, i'd win all my games. LITERALLY. Do you guys have that same problem?

Dunno if winning all the games, but sure as hell I'd perform better if I'd happen to be gifted with more time that my opponent, too.

My point is, both players have a sort of a catch-22 here. You achieve a better position because you use too much time. Your opponent has more time because he/she didn't work so much on the position (of course this is a simplified image of the matter, but still). It is necessary to achieve a compromise in blitz.
