Some people say chess is a boring game

Absolutely, it says something about the mentality of the person who says that 'chess is boring'.
But I suppose that there are some dopes who think that being passionately in love is boring. Because they have never experienced the passion themselves. Dopes.

👍 I like your answer, someone says chess is boring, you ask them define boring please.
Instead of answering or proving them something why chess is not boring, you are just switching tempo and now it's his turn to move lol nice one
Good example of gaining tempo 😉
Thank you. Glad to see someone supports me reply😊
Agreed. I would reply by asking, "Oh, why do you say that?" Also, why do you care if someone else thinks chess is boring? You don't need to argue with them or try to convince them. Different people like different things. I think baseball and golf are boring. But I wouldn't say that to someone who likes baseball or golf, because I'm not a jerk.

Obviously boring is relative and we don't need Einstein to explain it. So if chess is boring for someone they are telling you the truth, while if someone else says chess gets their rocks off they are telling you the truth (unless they are not).

Oftentimes people call something boring when their real complaint is that it's too difficult. Many call chess, mathematics and economics boring. But none is if you put in enough time and effort to achieve some success. Many consider baseball boring too. But there is nothing boring about a 1-0 extra innings win in the World Series. All those scoreless innings in a great pitching duel are anything but dull because just one swing of the bat could decide the outcome.

Baseball - it's just not cricket.
Cricket!? We fought a war to get rid of that sport! Well, we had a couple of other beefs too.

Ok perhaps the levels of taxation were unfair. But wasting all that perfectly good tea was poor form.

It wasn't the levels; it was the taxation without representation. And of course the cricket.

@Ganine Let's practice your suggestion and add 2 + 2. This is a mental exercise which I'm sure you're going to find boring fast. With openings searched so deeply, I find myself playing the same game against opponents on my level.
@FBloggs We still have taxation without representation. They have the posts, but they don't listen.

Chess is not for creative , interesting people.
Where's the fun in beating someone you don't know anything about.
Actually its a good example of why there are wars.
Co.nflicts that never achieve anything
Boring means that they can't play chess. Ha ha.
The first question to ask is 'what is your rating'?
