A good German Folk song is entitled
"Es Wollt ein madchen fru aufstehen."
First verse is as follows
Es Wollt ein madchen fru aufstehen
Dreiviertel Stund vor Tag
Wollt in den Wald spazieren gehen
heili heilo spazieren gehen
und brombeeren pfluken ab.
Translated this goes
There was a girl who got up early
three quarters of an hour before dawn
she wanted to go for a walk in the forest
heili heilo
and pick blackberries.
There are several verses
Briefly when she entered the forest
she met the Hunters servant
He told her to get out of the forest
as it was his masters preserve.
The song develops when she leaves the forest
and runs into the Hunters son
He invites her back into the forest so she could fill her basket full.
Maybe a bit corny but a good tune.Has been orchestrated as a march too.
