Specify bot openings / styles.

Has anyone made chess bots that have their openings and styles changed?

For instance, if you want to practice d4 openings, you can set it to that, or QGA, QGD, Londons, etc, or to only defend e4 with the Sicilian.

Is there somewhere/a program that enables this, and if not, is it possible to modify this sites bots to do that?

I think it'd be a great way to train specific openings.

You can use Explorer, the Openings section, or the Analysis Board to get a position and the Practice vs Computer from there.

Play the position in the analysis and then go "Play against computer"

I have asked a staff member involved in the bots about it, to see if there are any plans to add something similar, or like what is available in Play for Custom Games:

However, even if they like the idea, it would likely be a while before it happens, unless it's already in progress. It's possible it won't happen though since there are already multiple ways to get the bots to play from custom positions.

If any staff members read this, please pass the message up the flagpole, would be great to play against specific openings, rather than just take whatever algorithmic/randomised opening the bots choose now.
