I am enjoying my grand kingdom and play 30 minute games on chess.com with the beta app I am looking forward to the time something can be done about my clock running when my opponent pieces move. I turned out to be tone deaf and can not hear the tones when pressing squares but learned what to do when making illegal moves by not pressing the from or to square correctly. you do have the option to turn sounds off users who select this option will likely realize there is the possibility to experience the board locking the squares. if this happens to you you simply push the from square twice then the to square. you my find you have to press the from square three times then press the to square. in some cases just pressing the from square one time then the to square one time works as well. it's great to play humans with the board I think I will try 60 minute games untill they come up with a solution to your loss of your time while the computer is moving your apponents piece. There is a learning curve to using it but once you have worked through them you will love the machine. I am willing to use the beta version while the bugs are worked out. I would buy one again with out giving it a though knowing what I do now. the chess off people should keep track of all the trouble shooting and produce a user manual and guide so early adoptors of their product don't have to go through the learning curve.

I have found it helps to not pick the piece up and then press down on the square when moving but rather press down when touching the piece then pick it up and move it. Place your phone so out of the corner of your eye you can confirm you in fact moved the piece. The board is very sensitive and you then will avoid actually pressing the square twice before pressing the to square which will generate an illigal move locking the squares. In which case you have to push the from squreoff twice again then the two square. Or one of the other of the two combinations. Ie. one press on the from square then press the to square or three presses of the from square then press the to square. Again I am tone deaf and cannot hear the sounds it is best to leave sounds on as it is my understanding the board double beeps upon not moving the pieces correctly locking the board then use my ideas to unlock the board. Perhaps squa4e off needs to adjust the tones so they different enough to get your attention. Key to all this is play long games which will make you a better player anyway. Play slower more deliberately and you will have a more desirable experience learn to send them the log files when experiencing beta problems so the can address players problems. You should report issues by scrolling left on your screen to contact them ask for instructions on sending log files.

I have had mine for some time now. in the beginning I thought something was wrong with my board and support worked with me to resolve issues. all my problems we're user error. I am 69 and never knew I was tone deaf untill support Skyped with me and it came to my attention. one needs to understand the board to use it properly. give them feedback on the beta that is what it is for that is why the updates continue to improve the experience. I prefer slow games anyway and willing to understand my user error problems cost me a couple hundred points in my slow rating but as I continue to improve my experience the points will come back and the product will continue to improve.

I just played a 60 minute game on chess.com the most realistic ovtb experience. this is the best investment I have ever made in a chess computer. it's not geared for speed chess but I have not tried the shorter time controls that have the new delay features they seem like they would more than make up for you clock counting down while the opponents piece is moving. playing 60 minute games gives one plenty of time to play a realistic game of chess. I would highly recommend this to everyone it is the only option in the world that moves your opponents piece for you allowing you to play either the computer or a human with no waiting for an opponent on chess.com. THERE IS A LEARNING CURVE WITH ANY NEW TECHNOLOGY. I wouldn't let people discourag you. buy one you will like it. They are regularly sending out updates now and I have seen a big jump in people logging in I assume 99 percent are using the beta software because even though it may show 15 people logged in it is hard to get an unrated game click the orange button in the lower right corner you will have a rated game on chess.com instantly. Order one it is worth the wait

click on chessoper's user I'd you will find he has never played a game on chess.com period so much for his opinion

you are commenting on a product designed to play humans on the internet. Yet you have never played a single game with it on chess.com was my point. The squareoff just started mass production in the last six months. There is no way they could really produce a trouble shooting guide as they had no idea those exposed to it what kind of issues arise with a new user. Granted a basic manual may have helped. I made the assumption perhaps wrongly that you likely never contacted support to help you with issues. I would offer some help if you would take it. All my early problems were human errors made by me. once I got past that I have really enjoyed using it. Chess. com has been great intigrating it but they are still working out the clock issues and they have been doing this for years.

with regards to chess.com I was experiencing problems with the chess clock which is chess.com end of the integration. I started to notice alot of fair play notices from them these are generated for example when people are losing and simply quit playing leaving alot of time still counting down on their clocks forcing their opponent to wait. in my case I noticed when I won a game by resignation when going from screen to screen even though the person had resigned the Android screen would show I had no time left on my clock and the opponents clock was still showing his clock was counting down. I contacted chess.com who were very happy to connect with a square off user. she thanked me for reporting this bug removed the restrictions on my account suggested downloading the new version of sceare off with came out Oct 7th gave me her personal email to report any other bugs that might show up. Point being yes chess.com has been around for ever but square off is new even to them and they are using the beta to work on issues just like square off. I thank them both for working to make square off better and better with each update. with relation to cost the early Milton Bradley chess computer cost me $500. that was back in the early 80s. square off is selling for $399 40 years later and is a better looking board and pieces and does something it couldnever do move a humans pieces for you. there is nothing that comes close to that. it is annoying to have to move any other chess computers moves for you opponent.

Pieces and squares not responding are generated by user errors To avoid these keep you pieces centered in the center of the squares. Don't physically pick up a piece to move it as the squares are more sensitive than anything made prior, you may accidently activate the from square by simply picking it up, then pressing the square again will generate an illegal move, further pressing the to square will not register a move. To unlock the board take the moved piece back to the from square press it twice then press the to square. if that doesn't work repeat the process pressing the from square three times then press the to square. the illegal move can be generated in a variety of ways. occasionally simply pressing the from squreoff once then pressing the to square will also unlock the squares. Keep a presents of mind to press the center of the square is important. it is not needed to press very hard. When I first got my grand kingdom I had a cell phone that was several years old and it would occationally lose connection I have not had this problem with my new phone. Use the beta version of the software. Utilize support if you have an issue or post a question on the forum. Updates are coming often install them. clock issues and time issues are being worked out by chess.com. I would suggest using the game times with delay features work best a standard time control less than 60 minutes will likely cause you to get in time trouble losing on time. chessopera likely did not take the time to adjust to a new technology. He doesn't play games on chess.com he certainly never played a game with a human on chess.com. my most enjoyable games are using The 60 minute time control even though I usually only use 30 to 40 minutes of my time. It is a great machine well supported by chess.com and square off. Square off would benefit with a user guide when it ships when they have cataloged user data after the beta has been utilized for a period they work with chess.com on software bugs. Go for the Grand Kingdom resetting the board is great. it is not necessary to press the spot where the piece is stored on the side.

Never had a problem with it playing live games on chess.com and there’s plenty of information on YouTube if you’re struggling.

Square off chess is the finest chess computer ever produced to play humans on the internet. Do a search on the forum I have already responded with extensive ideas on how to use it. Chessopera never took the time to learn to use it properly he doesn't play chesson chess.com and certainly never used square off to play humans.

Just an update if anyone's interested.

I'm playing the Grand Kingdom set since february 2019 with enormous satisfaction. The Chess.com integration it's now finally amazing. At the beginning it permitted you only to play "random players". Now you can also choose the ELO of the opponent (previously was completely random).

Perfect shipment, perfect product, perfect integration. If someone's interested I have a 10% coupon included with my purchase to share with a "friend" (I don't earn money if someone use it).

Regards

I want the coupon, I really want to buy it. I’m just deciding which one is the best  for me: kingdom or great kingdom. Please send me the coupon via email if you are so kind:
