Not sure, but the only time i heard a grinding noise was when the board was locked. I Think your best bet is to talk to the in game app support team. They are in overseas so the time zone might be causing the communication delays. I will send this message to them on their fb page as well.

Yes it is  happy.png The board comes with several different adapters so it is accessible everywhere

Johnny_Gumshoe this has been my experience with square off customer support. They are going to go out of thier way to stand behind their product. My issues when I got mine turned out to be user error and they got me straightened out. i would suggest you created a Skype account while your waiting to make direct contact with them it will save you time if you can give them your Skype contact information. They will walk you through some trouble shooting. Then take the appropriate steps to correct your issue. Square off team are great. Someone posted the Black Friday $100. of code above. If you have been on the fence about buying one now is the time to commit. The videos they mentioned to help new users should help to correct the new user errors. Buy one I am sure you will love the experience, I do. Hang in there Johnny_Gumshoe it will be worth it I think you problem should be considered an isolated problem keep us posted on how your issue is resolved.

I played 3 games tonight against the AI. And only one error that moved on the app but failed to move on the board.

No grinding noises tonight.


I’ll wait until next week to try again and contact support as I’m away at work again.

New update to the Square Off application, they’ve added a leaderboard for games played within their own environment. One has to have played at least 10 games there to be included, and they only list the top 100.

It is great that square off  rates the games  played on their server it makes it more of a challenge. It is currently hard to get a game there. I played there before they did this if I wasn't terrivbly serious about playing the game and didn't put the same effort  I do on 60 minute games on chess.com.

However now there is an issue with this that they may not have thought of. I had been playing someone who was taking there time and so I put the effort into playing at a slow pace and didn't mind he was doing a deep think on each move.  However it came to me controlling the open file pinning his queen against his king and he simply left and it has been an hour that he has kept me waiting not responding in chat after he stated that  "you got me" and he left me sitting here refusing to quit the game hoping he would at some point come back. If Square off is going to rate these games and I spend an hour playing a game I should either win or lose points not be stuck with resigning so I can play another game when in a winning position. The guy I was playing user name is  " akshay k "  I don't think I will be playing to many games in Square offs section if this becomes the norm. I would rather spend my time playing on chess.com as the results of the games have more meaning. This is something square off needs to do or remove the rating feature.

I sent word to square off though thier web site and they responded almost immediately showed concern asked me to send the log files of the game and relate the story again I am sure they will address the issue. I should have just contacted them directly without going on about it here sorry. I overreacted.

Wow... I cannot stand those types. I will be sure not to play him lol

Great idea, makes it more enjoyable to play chess.

I love the board, but the app needs a good amount of work.

The team is very responsive though and added some features next day after I contacted them.

 

If you can spend the money I recommend it, great Xmax present too...

They had taken care of my loss of rating points on the square off system and are looking into what can be done when people quit a game when you winning, forcing you to resign in order to play another game, great customer service in every way.  Speaking of Christmas presents the Kingdom version is available on Amazon. com no wait. Dought that will be in long buy one this minute you won't regret it.  if they run out you may have up to a 12 week wait.  Anyone ordered a Grand Kingdom lately what is the wait time!
