Square Off chessboard integration?
Did you buy one? Have you actually received it yet?

However, all I see on the site are lots and lots of complaints about delays and value added taxes and refund demands.

Really starting to get fired up... latest update is a joke. I was one of the first 170 people in the whole world to believe in your project and pay money to this thing. You claim you shipped 1300 boards yet mine isn’t one of them. I’m not alone in this obviously as there are people even before me who feel the same way. I recieved my Square off today. Very nice product and I had an exciting game with a german gentleman. But I noticed that the game was established through Square Off's own network. Any news regarding integration between Chess.com and Square Off? And if it will start with only daily games (doh) or even live games from the start?
i recieved my square off chess board yesterday as well. The best purchase I have ever made its wonderful not having to look at a screen to play chess. I ordered it three
weeks ago when it was first available (besides kickstarter)and the shipping was quick and easy. I felt scared about it being a scam bc all the negative reviews about ppl not recieving their boards, but everything was fine for me. The only bad thing is that there is no ppl online to play against which is why I cant wait for chess.com live chess integration. Square off also needs to add time limits on online chess games I could not find it.
@notmtwain, I know this reply arrives a few weeks after your comments in post #2, but there do seems to be several satisfied customers, judging by comments in another "Square Off chessboard" thread:

Would not buy it. If the business behind it goes bancrupt, which is not that unlikely, it won't work anymore.

when did you order yours? How long did delivery actually take?
the square off board works very well and is really fun. i have had it for several weeks and so far really like the board. i am hopeful the chess.com “collaboration” means a true integration where i can play a live rated game against any chess.com player. hopefully the time of game can be as quick as 15-20 mins. they released a new version of the app which includes the following in the faq sectuon. this is trickily worded but it is scaring me that this wont be a true integration.
Are you able to play games with other players on chess.com, lichess.org, etc?
We have a collaboration with Chess.com which allows all the Square Off users to challenge any one from 21 Million Chess.com player. In the meanwhile, we are discussing partnerships with other Chess platforms as well and will keep adding more partners in the future.
Erik from chess.com posted it will be daily games first and live games later. Obviously it couldn't handle blitz but I would love to play 30 minute games online live or maybe even as quick as 15. I'm equally as concerned about getting the ability to watch professional games like the world championship live on my board.
