Square Off chessboard integration?

How long did it take for people that have the square off board to receive it?

FriendlyChessPlayer2

I am considering buying this. As I understand it, the board works via blue tooth connection to your phone. I am hoping to play games lasting several days with my Dad. If I come and go (connect and disconnect from Bluetooth), does the game continue when I return? Can you play games over several days? If anyone knows our has experience, your advice is appreciated!

Something between 3 and 8 weeks.

It now has Chess.com integration on the beta version: has anyone used it?

i mainly am on ios but i scrounged up an android device and just got the beta version of square off up and running this morning.  i didnt see any chess.com integration on the beta version.  i wrote the developers this morning, waiting to hear back

This is probably what they will tell you (It's the answer I received):

Hey, Currently we only support sending and receiving a direct challenge To get started: ♟To sign into chess.com, please open side menu - tap on profile image - tap chess.com logo ♟To challenge a chess.com user, once you sign in, search with his username and issue a challenge ♟Incoming challenges sent by a chess.com user are currently only visible when you are in the Online game screen.

yeah, so i initially missed the instructions on the google play store for the chess.com integration. i ended up figuring out a way to get square off on my amazon fire hd device (its on google play but not amazon appstore), but when i go to the beta version and sign in to chess.com it crashes everytime.  it could be that the device is not compatible or the app is buggy ... i’m not sure... i also have to look into how u find a pool of players on chess.com to direct challenge... it may be easy, but ive never done that.... i always let the computer set a game up... hopefully down the road we can just automatically find a game on chess.com with the square off app

the good news is that the latest android beta release has chess.com integration where u can select random 10, 20, 30, 40 min rated games (i think itngoes up to 60 mins). i tried it in the wee hours of the morning and it works. i did have a drop out game where i made a movie, it said i won on my tablet, but it ended up being a loss on chess.com for abandonment..... but this is a great feature.... the one i have been waiting for... and i am sure they will iron out the glitches..... i did play another game where everything worked flawlessly - this is a great development

I'm not quite getting how to integrate with Chess.com.  I have an iPhone 8.  Any help would really be appreciated.

chess.com integration is currently in the beta square off app for android only.  ios app should get the feature soon

Mine's been on order for three weeks now!

Apparently it's going to be dispatched from China to here in the UK.

FriendlyChessPlayer2

I also recently ordered one, but I believe it takes ~8 weeks to arrive, from what others have said.

I will probably receive my device this or next week. I have the simple version, but now I will get the better one.

I will sell the first one to the clinic I work, as I am using it in my chess lessons. Really funny, a lot of beginners want to learn how to play so they can try to win against the computer (at a low level).

Really starting to get fired up... latest update is a joke. I was one of the first 170 people in the whole world to believe in your project and pay money to this thing. You claim you shipped 1300 boards yet mine isn’t one of them. I’m not alone in this obviously as there are people even before me who feel the same way. Now your out of materials and are asking for another month yet again to post an update to shipping........🥊

lol, this was me on the kickstarter page. Its funny that one of my rants ended up in this post. Just an update for anyone interested, I finally received my 2 grand kingdom sets yesterday (one for me and one for my brother who lives in a different state). Was an extremely long wait but they did finally come after I emailed them enough. happy.png

I don’t know. Was this planned? Would be a really cool thing.

Hi Square Off-friends, I hired a coach (a GM!!) for the first time in my life and I would like to play in the next time a couple of games, so I can use them in my lessons.

It would be somehow cool if I could play these games with Square Off. I am playing usually Daily Chess, as I stoped some months ago studying openings, so I will play the opening using opening principles (what means that I will probably get crushed in the first 6 moves, lol).

I will comment these games and post it in a new club, called „Back in the 1970s“. (Why this name? Because we will pretend in this club that we are analysing games without the help of engines, like in the 1970s).

If you are interested you can join the club and there agree to play some games. As I said, there is a big chance that some of these games (the ones I didn’t blunder too early) will annotated by a GM.

Actually the idea is not hat club members play against  each orher, but we can make exceptions with the Square Off -people.

We don’t have a minimum rating there. Actually one of the members is a novice, and one is 1700+.

The conditions are simple: you have to post an annotated game every two weeks, and you are not allowed to use an engine in your analysis. And you have to participate actively in the discussions, commenting the games posted by other players. That’s it.
