Hello chess.com admins/moderators who are possibly reading this post. If the square off chess board is compatible with chess.com I will gladly start buying the yearly membership.

I know @erik had tested a version of their product while it was in the crowdfunding state, and he expressed interest in supporting it, but I haven't seen anything new about it.

@Martin_Stahl I wish I could have tried it out at the vegas tech show when it came to town! It looks so amazing!!!! I preordered mine last month. It is scheduled to come out in August too 🤞

Right now they are still selling them 40% off I believe. I bought one bc in my area there is no otb games worth playing. Ever. I have 4 chess boards & the reduce price on this one is just barely more expensive then some of my other show boards lol I can't wait for it to come out.

Hopefully chess.com will get on board and figure out how to make it members play using it. You're right though, besides the short king Erik seemed to really like it! Chess24.com needs to get it too. They have live streaming of all the Gm games so that'll make it interesting to watch GM play on a board in front of you

Hey guys, I’ve come into possession of a square of board and it’s really awesome to play the AI but I have not yet figured out how to connect to chess.com

Have you got it working yet?

1. Connect to the board.

2. Hit play a friend. This will show you all the square off users that are on. Red dot means they are in a game. green dot means they are looking for a game.

3.  Hit the little red battle axes in the bottom righ-thand corner to connect to chess.com

4. Choose time controls. 10, 15|10, 30, 45|45, 1 hour. 10 minute is not enough time though*

5. Play.

I have the board and have not been able to start one game after accepting 30 challenges. I have hit stream option and watched a game that way. So in my opinion they have a long way to go and I hope they get the online option working

Eureka finally got a game started! I had to keep changing increments to finally get a game..at 2 min a move some one accepted.

Yeah i don't accept those type of games. I only accept games that are at least 15 minutes long with 45 seconds increments... preferably longer than 30|45 or 45|45 though. I like longer times because it helps me practice for USCF rated games better.

My mobile battery gets cained when connected to the board via BlueTooth. Why is that?

I'm not sure what cained means? can you use a different word to describe the issue

Bluetooth is an additional hardware function to provide the wireless connectivity. It has been like that since the tech was used for headsets mid 2000s.

The real questions are: is the Bluetooth connection reliable and are the time chess controls being handled fairly in-between moves?

Very cool. Thanks for the updated confirmation.

How come I can get a game going much faster posting in Chess.com than in the Square Off app? Using the same time control of 15/10, I wait less than a minute on Chess.com and a long time on the Square Off app.

I am interested in playing Beth Harmon, however using my squareoff board. Is squareoff integrated enough with chess.com to play the computer while using the board, or can you only play live players?
jr87

Not that i am aware of but it looks like just playing AI with a picture of beth lol
