Starcraft chess

lol
Although I have to admit, I loved sc and obviously also play chess.

I know someone with a Star Trek chess set. I figure you might as well tattoo "virgin" on your forehead.

So which is better, Ultralisk riding Ghosts or Colossi?
That's really an eternal question, don't you think?

Please goldendog, take it into one of the numerous Ghosts-on-Ultralisks vs Colossi threads.

Don't smile, that wasn't funny, I came back to delete it. Oh well.
God, pawns are just 'marines'? Those poor guys get no respect, do they?

"Starcraft Chess" is illegal. Are you aware of this, d34l10?
how can that be ? it looked pretty harmless to me.

You're gonna love this then. In highschool I knew a guy who actually made the 3d star trek chess set (ok come on, that takes some skill, he cut the wood, painted it, looked very nice, he barely even played chess by the way).
But here's the real nerdy part, we figured out the way they had it in the show was wrong, and if you were to really play a game of 3d star trek chess you needed to have the mobile squares hang from the bottom for black. If they stand above black's board it's as if he starts with 2 extra moves.
We played a few games, I won

Wow. Well, I guess your car looks cool.
I really need to change my picture... maybe to a pink ford fiesta like the grobe jokingly suggested (I think it was him anyway).
I think people get the wrong idea... my car isn't cool, it's that my ideas for user names are terribly uncreative. Of course with a pink ford fiesta people may get a different kind of wrong idea

Call it an ironic statement! And yeah, I know your whole car username rationale, but jokes work better when I feign ignorance.
Wait, feign?

I bought a 3D chess set like they had on Star Trek with lawn mowing money when I was in middle school. It was plastic rather than wood. I don't remember much else except that I could beat the few people I could get to play me.

I'll bet he handled a lot of wood during that time.
If you play the Starcraft 2 beta, there's this chess game under the custom games in multiplayer. The move list is in this awkward long-algebraic notation but it's funny. Marines are pawns, Ghosts-on-ultralisks are knights, Colossi are bishops, Siege-tanks are rooks, Zerg queens are the queens, and Motherships are kings.
