in the web page "regression test" - fishtest, the development version of sf16 from April to today earned only 6 elo points. how do you comment? is there a way in your opinion to exceed the 3900 rating?

Are you asking if 3900 is some practical or theoretical limit? It’s a good question. I doubt if it is.

Yes. maybe 3900 is not an absolute limit, but it could be a limit for Stockfish.

Stockfish 15.1 is out. And it plays surgically precise. I doubt engines will gain much elo now. Stockfish might be approaching a limit for itself and for chess in general.

Stockfish is still gaining elo so I think there will be a Stockfish 16.

stockfish 15.1 already came out with a ELO of 4000 points. SF 16 will be better. But it is only a dev version so it scored the same accuracy as SF 15.1.

I’m still waiting. Hasn’t Stockfish gained enough points or are they tweaking it until it’s perfect to release version 16?
