strato chess

anyone here ever played it, like it or dislike it?

first I wanted to ask what is it, but said "let me google it, first", and found a 3D chess (3 boards on top of each other). So how do u play it? and what r the rules? and have u played it??

It looks like the old Star Trek 3 Dimensional chess set, but they were not full boards on each level. Spock and Kirk used to play.

I received one of those for Christmas last year. I put it together, said "well, look at that", and took it apart. I haven't played it and probably never will. I'm just not into those type variations. Also, I think the king's base is the same size as the squares. it felt really crowded.

However, I have a Civil War set (another gift) and found the strato pieces fit that board very nicely. It makes a nice little coffee table set.

I guess my answer to your question is I have never played it and I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I did.
