One of the best books to start with is irving chernev's "logical chess move by move" .. the rest is solve tactics and mating patterns. You will see some improvement quickly

I am trying to up my game. I've just started with Chess.com and although I've played chess casually throughout my life, I've never studied it. So, general rating is about 1000-1100 right now. What are some specific books and\or chess.com videos people would recommend?
