suggestion: different time control for players

i think it would be cool if you could have a variant where you have more or less time than your opponent. for example, you have 5 minutes, and your opponent has 10. i think that would be cool to play against higher rated players

my chess class does simuls like that, the teacher has 25 min but we have 10 min

The term for this is "time odds" and yeah it would be cool for chess.com to create this option available. As of now, I know some people just spam the "add time" button to give more time to the opponent to artificially create time odds, but this isn't the same. 

Who knows? Maybe chess.com is working on it? They recently created "piece odds games" ("balanced"), so perhaps time odds is a close thing they might make in the future.

I’ve used the balanced odds mode a few times and it’s pretty interesting but, it’s not at all like a time control. You still have the same time controls for each player, unless there is a feature i don’t know about yet. 

yeah for sure time control "time odds" and "piece odds" are different. Also chess.com "balanced" isn't as good as piece odds because we can't "switch up" how much one side is favored - you could start a game from a "custom position" with unequal material, but only diamond members have access to this I think.
