The algorithm is made to prevent you from improving. I don't have anymore doubts about it.

I was almost 1600 again. But the algorithm said stop. This is my 1500000st losing streak on this application after having a winning streak.
The site doesn't use the pairing system to try and cause streaks.
Actually I'm improving elo (it's paired so you win about 50 percent of the time) it's not the system if your worried about it just play people that you know are good(if you do otb tournaments just play those people)
Isn’t it strange that the algorithm does this to you but to nobody else.
While I kinda agree, something odd happens at the beginning of a crest in rank 1100, 1200, and so on its like the strength of opponents are very unpredictable imo..

kinda looks like you got titlted happens to all of us.

if (player improving)
{ pairagainst_cheater_or_sandbagger( ); }
something like this i suppose.
If you think they are cheaters then you will get your rating back. And I don't think player improvement correlates to your elo. If you are in fact getting higher skilled players compared to your elo then you will improve even faster and soon break through the elo barrier. Don't falter soldier keep pushing forward I believe in your capabilities.

I guess i'm confused. The same algorithm that worked to raise your rating and get you to "almost 1600" is the same one that is causing your rating drop? Man, that's way over my pay grade. I'd be happy if the algorithm would just let me reach 1100!

Looking at your games, your losses came from blunders on your end - not from amazing moves by your opponents.
In many cases you dropped pawns or even full pieces, just from simply not looking ahead and seeing how your opponent might respond.
This is, of course, part of the game, and what makes chess so difficult sometimes. We miss things, even when we try not to.
But part of improving requires being self-critical. You need to acknowledge your mistakes and recognize that your losses are a result of your own move choices - instead of blaming your losses on others, or blaming them on an algorithm ...
Own up to your losses. Recognize that they come from you. That's the first step to fixing your mistakes.

Probably becauee you're playing againat new users who don't have a proper raring yet who start on a round number.
This is not a MOBA. The results of your games depend on your performance. If you play worse you lose, if you play better you win.
If you want to blame the system, go play LoL, even if you're not right you can at least get good theories from the matchmaking system when it's a MOBA, you can't do that with chess.
