Well, Ive played Chess for quite sometime and consider myself a strong player, as white..............I have recently realized that I am far more inferior a player as black. I have played white more than black. So I attribute the difference to lack of experience. But it just feels different.....What do you guys think ,about the difference of playing as black or white?
I would honestly say that I agree with you, although as the person playing black you are down a tempo because white get the first move. So you need to be quicker at defending pieces. Also when playing white, if you make a mistake, because you have the advantage of the first move, you usually don't get punished early on in the game, but as black, losing a second tempo will result in a lost piece, which could mean a lost game.
I actually prefer playing black. Consider learning some new black openings that counter attack white or otherwise just do anything that stops the game going down the ruy lopez route. I suggest learning the Scillian, French, Scandinavian and King's Indian defence as good, solid and overall little risk openings for black.
It depends on the player. Usually, aggressive players find it easier to play White (because of the extra tempo), and the more conservative, defensive players tend to find it easier playing Black (since they are responding to White's moves and feel less pressure to win).
Attacking with white and counter attacking with black is my game. I doesn't really matter what color you start out with. The better chess player will win.
