The erosion of morality, honor, & integrity by hacking chess players.

So the "New standard of winning" has become: LIE, CHEAT, STEAL, & KILL the morality, honor, & integrity of chess.  There is a group of 5 min. chess player; with high ratings, that are hacking games by making the screen flash, highjack the points & win the game by abandoning their opponents game.  Where is this expansive group of Chess.com officials?  Why has this "Cancer" been allowed to spread so wildly? Are "whistleblowers" now minimized? Food for thought...

Just curious, who were you playing when this occurred?

It isn't possible for another player to interrupt your connection in a Live game. The Live server process is basically a traffic cop between you and your opponent. Your moves, move times, any chat, and draw offers get sent to the server. The server will only relay the pertinent data to the other player. The reverse is true for your opponent. Your connection information is not available to your opponent.

If a player sends extra data to the Live server in an attempt to disconnect someone, they will probably have connection issues.

There is information in the above you can implement to improve your connectivity with the site and reduce potential lag.

Publicly accusing members is not something that is allowed on the forums.

This guy is obviously a troll, he has made tens of topics upon this issue. If he isn't a troll then he must be ignorant of his own bad connection.

My mistake, I should have been more careful in my post.  Good call on how the server works.

In response to the OP, I would suggest contacting support if you truly feel there is a problem, or perhaps you could report a potential bug.

It should not be called Erosion though. Erosion is a geological process which happens after or During weathering, it is the process of Transportation of weathered materials from one point to another. Transportation of said materials can be done by wind, Water, glaciers or Burrowing animals  for example.

I don't think he is a troll. He is a long-time member who has almost never posted before. He has played more than 18,000 games without making a peep.

Clearly, he is upset because something has changed and it is interfering in his ability to complete games.

Personally, I suspect that the heavy load factor for the site is slowing things down.

All his posts are paranoid with " he beats me, he must be a cheater". If you are ok with that, it is fine!

Yes, but he almost never posted in 7 years before last month. He just played and played and did puzzles.

Clearly, something has changed and it has upset him.

We shouldn't label him a troll. We should try to help him figure out what might have changed.

Personally, I think it's the overwhelming demand surge for usage during the coronavirus.  There have been multiple server crashes recently, which you would almost never see previously.

The only way screen flashes. Is if you got KFC wifi. Might wanna call your internet supporters and tell them to increase speed, chess. Com doesn't work well with slow internet

donnelleraeburn

There is a premove glitch that keeps happening in mobile where you can't premove, and it sucks. I hope they fix it

Thee_Ghostess_Lola

I bleeve Mister Chess Dot Com when he says its 'probably'...

If a player sends extra data to the Live server in an attempt to disconnect someone, they will probably have connection issues.

...not doable. but remember. sophisticated hackers can break into nearly e/t (they got into my CC & wuz in LV overnite blowing $100 abuncha times along the way). so not convinced but still trust he's right. cuz top hackers arent gonna waste much time on such pettiness. me babbles.

Thee_Ghostess_Lola

maybe corrupt is better than erode ? idk. tho ive heard 'erosion of confidence'.
