it may just be me or does anybody else find the hard computer on this site easy because i am able to easily beat the hard computer but lose against the easy and medium computers.

This should not happen as I fear that the opposite of this situation was intended:) which engine do you use? Or you face this with all computer programs? and what about the matches can you post the matches for us?

I don't know this site's chess engine very well.. But I know that HARD SUCKS.
wasdQwerty

Well its very weird you manage to beat hard, and loose over easy!

There must be an programming issue here. Hard surely didn't play as hard it should be playing.

I played chess for the first time a week ago. The computer was on hard mode...no way could I have beaten it. I can beat it 9/10 times on easy, and rarely lose. If I don't win on easy I usually draw so I decided to skip intermediate and try hard to see how badly I would lose. The first game I had a draw. The second time I won... There is no way I can beat a 2000+ player. I don't think I'm a newfound chess genius either lol. I think they programmed the hard mode wrong. The castle was by the bishop and queen in the bottom row. (Sorry that I do not know notation.) It was obvious the computer would have to defend or have a checkmate. It moved a useless pawn... The queen could have been moved up to defend it. If I decided to kill the queen with the tower then the black pawn could kill the tower. Another possible move sequence for the black to remain in the game was for it to move the bishop in the black kings row to defend against the tower. The black tower would then have an open sight and be able to defend the king. Another possible tactic...the worst move in my opinion. I havn't really looked at them or thought about it yet... would be to move one of the pawns in front of the king for the king to have a get away route. As you can see, there were many easy ways for the black to escape checkmate. There is no way a 2000+ player would have missed that. Thank you for reading this extremely long post. If someone is reading this and knows how to contact chess.com...please do and tell them to fix the problem. I made this account just to post this and I have no idea how to use the site at all. I was only using the "play the computer" mode. Once again thank you. Bye.
