Just wanted to mention to you folks that there is a new series on Netflix, which is really quite good.
It is obviously chess related, but has an excellent story line as well.....Enjoy.

...TheChess is so real. No mistakes as of yet bro.
Not sure on that. I would have to watch part of the episode again where the janitor plays d4 but I'm pretty sure that was all that was on the board and he called it the Queen's Gambit.
Other than that, It's been pretty good.
I found the scene where the Janitor begins to look at her in awe quite moving.Especially when she asks him if she's any good and he responds with how exceptional the girl is.The poor thing had such tragedy( I won't give anything away) that you just have to root for her....Great show!
I thought it was spot on when she answered she likes chess because it is "beautiful". Non-chessplayers don't get this at all.
I looked for more information and found out that Walter Tevis had written "The Hustler", "The Man Who Fell to Earth" and "The Color of Money", which all became major motion pictures.
Half "robo"t, half human, she is weak, alcohol and drugs but strong in chess... very touching...with beautiful scenes, architecture, saloons...The book must be interesting too 😃
To me,it's the human interest story(which is powerful) as well as the obvious chess attraction, but to nitpick every chess move is going a bit overboard,imo....I am "not" referring to anyone's responses here....Just my two cents.
there is final game analysis by agadmator's. but it is spoiler. only watch after completing your series
Episode 41 of The Chess Pit podcast is a Queen's Gambit special, of sorts. We review (without spoilers!) the Netflix series, and do our best to see it through non-chess eyes. This week's quiz also celebrates Beth Harmon.
