Hi! In what period of time the average players achieve rank from 1000 to 2000??? I was just wondering I'm a fool or not? Half a year already for 5 hours a day and fighting all at the same level!!!

In blitz?  You have improved from roughly 800 to roughly 1200 from March to November and you want to know how long until you reach 2000?  Using 5 hours a day of playing blitz and boxing (each? total for the two together?)

There is no formula, no usual, except that 99% plateau well below that 2000 level.

You are not a kid, so your chances of reaching that level are less. On the other hand, as an adult, you may have developed the concentration skills necessary to make sustained progress. How long until you plateau? Who knows?

The problem is that even if you achieve a 2000 rating, you will not be satisfied, because there will still be thousands of players above you who can kick your ass.

Also, it appears reasonable to say that getting hit hard in the head probably increases in frequency as you (and your opponents) get better at boxing. That seems unlikely to help increase your chess rating.

Thank you for giving me your time!

It's different for everyone of course.

With all the right elements (work ethic, tournaments, coach) it would take a few years for 99% of people. A few kids have done it in under 2 years I think. 3 years or more is a more realistic goal I think.

Most people have chess as a hobby though and work sporadically without a coach and without regular long games. Due to how little of each element involved, most never reach 2000. Those who do, in my experience, often take 5-8 years.

A number of times I've played blitz 10+ hours in one day. This doesn't count as training though. That's just having fun.

Thank you! Within 7 years I'll try. I try to approach teaching a little differently.

I normally achieve in 1 day.

I have had hundreds of 1 day accounts...as I just see how fast I can get my rating up past 2000+...sometimes 2100 in a day.....

I have had my only current chess account for several months and it is above 2000+ but the amount of points you win per game is so low it will take months to get to 2200.....if I dont delete the account and start again that is Wink

Don't feel so bad, my OTB rating is around 2200, so getting a 2000+ QP rating in one day is easy...

You should see if any captures is able, and what possibilities arrive after you have captured that piece, like after the queen trade, I saw that I could get a skewer against my FM opponent.

I played quick and solid, while my opponent was thinking, making him blunder.
