Things I like about V3.

Why just be a chronic complainer. Ive been vocal about what i dont like. Lets now create a forum listing the things we do like. I will start.

I think the forums are organized much more efficiently although I don't like that i cant find the posts i have posted easily like i can here in V2. I exited V3 to find this post because i had a hard time finding it in V3.

I like that the join a tournament button is in plain site.

I like that you can tell who voted for what move in Vote Chess and when. This should reduce drastically drive by voters

I also like the fact that chess.com has extended it's cheat detection to vote chess for the 1st time. To date vote chess has been riddled with engine use. This is a big improvement as far as I am concerned.

I like that V3 is not the exclusive site yet.

What I like about V3 is that most people don't like it. 😃

A truly lovely idea.

I like the new boards.

How can you tell "who" has voted Pam?  What is the point of trying to cheat in Vote Chess when there are a number of you voting?

VirgoScorpio

Sorry that last not was addressed to crafty susie.

I just had my computer shut down; I had to restart it. And what do I see? Apparently, V3.

Who thought that replacing the word "Quote" by a pair of quotation marks that you can only see when you hover over them was a good idea?

Who thought that making forum alerts not show up on my home page was a good idea?

Who thought that making it impossible for me to just go down my list of messages and check and delete the ones I didn't want was a good idea?

I have to agree with you there Keith. Happy Thanksgiving.

I want to get alerts that posts have been made in discussion threads I'm tracking in forums.

I don't want to get alerts that notes have been posted.

It's less than obvious to me how I can stop one kind of alert but not the other.

MindWalk

And what happened to conditional moves?

I could fully understand what was going through MindWalk's head when he typed And what happened to conditional moves?

That's all in Settings -> Alerts and Emails. Conditional Moves still exist - the button appears when it's your turn.

Apart from being in the wrong thread, you should really at least try to figure out where stuff is before complaining about it. And this isn't the right thread anyway - there are plenty of threads where people list what they don't like, this one is for what people do like.

And the reality is that the most people are perfectly happy with V3 but the site is bending over backwards to accommodate those who are rusted on to V2.

I like the variants. I like the theme that I've chosen. I like how "Report a Bug" gets a screen shot automatically.

Hey if something isn't broken don't spend a Sh#t load money trying to fix it.

MindWalk

I found conditional moves. And I do like being able to see how many votes have been recorded for each move before making a Vote Chess move.

However, I've looked through Settings-->Alerts and Emails and have not found a way to stop getting note alerts while still getting forum post alerts. If you know of a way, I'd love to know it.

And my Vote Chess game alerts are coming in the same spot as my forum post alerts. For a couple of reasons, this is annoying.

As for finding the right thread--blame the alert system. I got an alert for this thread, for no good reason I can discern (it isn't as though I had posted here before).  I didn't get one for an "I hate V3" thread, and I'm not going to go searching through the system to find one.
