This is why chess.com is a joke - draws by insufficient material

So now on a handful of occasions in the last few days, i've moved simply to win on time as is within my rights. On a few occasions time has run out but I've ended up drawing through insufficient material. No chess.com, the only insufficient material lies within your website, it doesn't seem to work correctly. Anyway, here's the most recent instance - https://www.chess.com/live?#g=4806689448

I don't expect any reply from any so-called administrators as they're probably as deficient as the website itself.

White is out of time and it is impossible for black to win, given infinite time.

Every official chess organization would call that a draw. That is the rule under FIDE (and the US Chess Federation as well).

What is your problem?

Oddly enough, when I've explained this to non-chess players, they got it instantly and couldn't believe all the fuss about it.

Every website is going to call that a draw. You can’t win with just a king, that’s the rules, maybe try learning them before ranting about them.

Perhaps you should change the title to "This is why @UKRampage is a joke". Learn the rules of chess before playing, let alone complaining, and ranting.

Funny stuff. You were outplayed for the vast majority of the game and it was forced mate in various ways for about the last 20 moves. Your opponent didn't have the technique to mate in time pressure but sensibly removed all your material to ensure that it would be a draw if they flagged. If I had failed to win that game I would be fuming. You on the other hand should be delighted with a draw.

Read the second bullet point

EnCroissantCheckmate

Your opponent destroyed you that game. I would be ecstatic with a draw in that position. On the other hand, you are fuming because you didn't win.

EnCroissantCheckmate

I would recommend that you try to checkmate with a lone king. Good luck!

Chips370

impossible!

Chips370

chess.com isn't a joke if you think its a joke then sighn off and never go back on!

batgirl

Well, that didn't go as expected.

Chips370

who me?!

filmboy

I am new to the site and using an Apple IPad. My problem is when playing an opponent I cannot see my time clock which is very disconcerting. I try sliding the screen up but to no avail. Anybody know what I am doing wrong.

Thanks.

ummm are you holding it on the side?
