I'm at my limit (3 puzzles a day) so I can't check it now. What is white first move?

Ziryab

I solved it in a few seconds. I've won many a game using the same sort of sequence of exchanges.

Sadlone

With the queens gone and a full piece advantage, it behooves you to keep your king closer to the battle.

Sadlone

No no no, don't be materialistic in the opening, u cannot compromise the castling right for just a minor piece

NegativeZeroBrainCells

I just hate this puzzle

Sadlone

Yeah me too, is there any way we can report this puzzle, its spoiling our Chess

It's much better to take the bishop and be entire piece up then to castle. Sometimes even one pawn can decide the game so taking that bishop is game over in higher rated games. Black is winning.

YaksharddedYAS

YOUR ABSOLUTELY STUDID BUSSY

blackmore324

I mean, the options are:

1) take a free horsey and win the game

2) keep castling rights

Yeah, I don't know about this one guys, but I will have to go with keeping casting rights. Aesthetics > Winning

yeah that makes sense I would understand at your level that even one pawn can change the game but for me its less important then castling so then that begs the question why put this puzzle in a 1200 puzzle rating?

personally, at a 1200 rating in rapid, black should win with this material. if you have taken a piece that saves you from checkmate, would you rather have that saving from checkmate, or would you like to castle and get checkmated? besides, you can just move you king and rook and castle manually if you really want to and be up a piece. wink.png.

Aragorn

That position is NOT winning for black, black has a .8 advantage. Not even 1 point! The idea behind the puzzle is to be heading into the late middlegame/early endgame one piece up!

blackmore324

You are still up a piece, even in the alternative line. You win a pawn instead, and you still have a bishop.

But if you follow OP's link it says Black to move.
