Three Illegal Moves Rule?

It does not exist. If however you miss a check in a blitz game, the opposing player can claim a win by taking your king.

I thought it had to do with rapid time controls - where the first two illegal moves award your opponent with a 2-minute addition, and the third one forfeits the game.
I remember being told that in 1989 - but rules do change rather frequently, don't they..

Not only do they change, each organization has its own version of the rules. Thus, you need to know whose rules apply.

Completely wrong. In blitz the opposing player can claim a win by calling the arbiter and pointing out the illegal move, but if he captures the king that counts as an illegal move itself, and he loses.

in chess ,there is an Illegal move. pertaining to article 3 of laws of chess. also another illegal is illegal action , which is pertaining to the behavior or attitude of the player, and the other is illegal position,

In official games, is there a rule that if a player makes 3 illegal moves in a game he/she loses? In a chess class I've taken before the teacher introduced us to that rule, but afterwards I never heard of it until today, when I saw somebody who seemed somewhat professional mention it in a blog. So does that rule actually exist or not?
