I love when I see it. It gives me free development.
Tired of people trying Scholar's Mate

It is normal for people to try it at that level. Even higher rated people play it from time to time.
I know Scholar's mate is a super easy checkmate to defend against, and that it gives you a lead in development but i still feel angry when my opponents try it on me. I honestly doubt that anyone over 500 has ever fallen for this trap, so when my 800 Elo opponents try it against me I, on one hand, feel glad that they're using such a bogus opening, but on the other hand, feel insulted that they genuinely believe that I got to the rating that I am just to fall for some stupid checkmate threat that they found out about in some random 8 year old's YouTube short. I know that 800 Elo isn't exactly spectacular, but the thought that someone at that level wouldn't instantly see the threat annoys me. Anyone else feel the same?
