To Noobs -- DO NOT CHASE THE QUEEN

Just a tip.

bobbyDK

that depends on the position. In some situation you can develop all your pieces just by chasing the queen.

Didn't say " do not develop "

You didn't really say anything.  It's totally dependent on the position.

ForeverHoldYourPiece

Chasing the queen is the logical response to someone developing their queen early in the game.

I think that sometimes, you can. Just don't chase the queen for no reason.

Excuse me guys, but here is a contradiction to "Don't chase the queen..."

Also, another puzzle...

xman720

the correct response in your puzzle is 1: ...e5.

I both shake my head in frustration and simultaneously salivate at the mouth when I see fellow 1200's doing this. I shake my head because 1200's should know better than to haphazardly flail around the board and play as though the objective is to checkmate the queen. 9/10 times I can avoid it with any halfway decent defense and be up +3 and +5 within 10 moves, then and only then do I match their hyper aggressiveness the rest of the game.

Good point about overextending! A lot of times provoking your opponent to overcommit their pieces can allow you to generate weaknesses in your opponent's camp and exploit them later on. In the case of this forum, when your opponent chases your queen, they can potentially overextend, leaving weaknesses for you to pick off later on.

Shaking your head is fine, but why do you "salivate at the mouth" when 1200's chase your queen?

Just curious...
