Are we talking about top in terms of quality or quantity? If the criteria was quantity it'd certainly involve 100 threads with Magnus Carlsen or Anand, with a smattering of "can I become a GM?" thrown in for good measure. Maybe even some "this guy cheats" to round out the list.
Quality and Quantity
The Daeth Opining thread beats all others hands down. The original is no longer existent, but it must have created more spinoff than all the Sicilian and Ruy threads together. And for sheer entertainment it had no equal.
