For over a hundred years signaling by a confederate has been a common method of cheating  in cards, chess or other games. The signal can be a visual cue, coughing or even, as occurred recently in baseball, by banging on a garbage can. 

Most cell phones can be set to vibrate, rather than beep or ring. With a phone in the shoe the player would sense the vibration without others noticing.  Any kind of code could be used, it wouldn't have to be Morse. The board has 64 squares and one can be specified by two bytes, one for file & for rank.

But who do you want to win ? You or a computer ?

In any case obviously it is not enough to receive moves. You must also have a way of communicating the board position, likely by relaying the opponent's moves each time after they're made.
