#2 do you often make players turn off their chat
Toxicity among the chess community

What was your point exactly? That you're a racist that plays badly and doesn't know how to turn off chat? Or was it something else?
I actually have 74% win ratio on rapid with only 91 games lmao
Besides, I don't understand how mentioning someone race in this case would be racist. I'm just describing someone's characteristics, it would have been racist If I said that indians guys are usually toxic, but that doesn't make any sense since I'm make a broad assumption of a whole race just for two toxic experiences I had online with people from that ethnicity. It's like if I said that all americans are racist because of this one LoL Game where a dude atracked me for being latino

The internet itself is toxic.
Cetainly lends itelf to the sort of stuff we are seeing here. I always have Chat off, and NEVER turn it on after I relented on one occasion, and had nothing but abuse. Does it happen all the time. I don't know because I never turned it on again to find out, but i suspect that if someone begs to chat when they know peoplw turn it off delibertely and do not want to talk that most times it will turn nasty.
So yes, the Internet is toxic in that regard, and toxic persons get away with toxicity scot free.

I love when people trashtalk me when I'm winning. They get angry and start to blunder even more. Free elo for the win.

If you can survive this chess comminity, you can survive anyrhing.
Chess is not really a great developer of character, it just shows more clearly the character you already had.

I have chat on and luckily trash talkers are not common in my experience.
Sometimes I decide that whether I win or lose, I say something nice to my opponent. It's a fun thing to do, and often people are nice to you, too.

That's nice. Kinda rare to see that in high elo. Nobody talks at all.

Chess.com average user is like below 12, so does it really matter?
12 years of age? My 83 bumps it up a bit! I have grankinder younger than 12 and nearly have greatgrandkinder.
No internet back in the 40's. A war on so it wasn't up for it.

*snip*I didn't expect some players here would be this toxic, *snip*I played poorly in that Game because of the Game before, and he trashtalked at the beginning of the Game, as usual. *Snip*
If you want to stimulate otb conditions turn off chat. If you want to chat, you have to take the good with the bad. Feel free to report the bad.
So trash talk is toxic in your definition. That's quite a low bar. Just turn off chat

Honestly I always turn on chat, if someone requests it I give it to them, if they wanna be nice, Great! If they wanna trash talk then they’re in for the time of their life
Regardless, never report. What's wrong with yall? So easily offended and have to report to mommy. Can't take mean words? I've been called every name in the book... it think it's hilarious. My response is always "gg" which probably infuriates them even more.
Told my mom about you. And she thinking up a few choice words ...
I started to play chess back and discovered this could be a Great hobby for me so I have played many games until now but honestly I didn't expect some players here would be this toxic, it's almost as if I were playing against a LoL player
In My first two of My last three games I played against this Indian guy who played terribly at the beginning of the Game, like insanely bad, he even asked me for a draw several times before (honestly if You do that while you're losing You just better resign, it makes you look like a Bad loser) However, I blundered in the lategame by missing the most obvious move: checking the kind and then taking the knight. My idea was to take the knight with the other rook that was defending but, You know, it was actually a Bad idea since I missed the better move.
Okay, after doing that I blundered Even more because I became nervous since the guy forked both of My rooks. This Indian guy started to trash talk in the worst way possible, calling me stupid and that I was about to lose.
I Lost the Game, so I rematched him again and he won because of time (+ I missclicked after checking the king so the rook took it) I played poorly in that Game because of the Game before, and he trashtalked at the beginning of the Game, as usual. The guy has quite a bad winratio and I guess he had a loss streak when he created his account since it started at 1052 but then quickly dropped from 1052 to 600~.
