Trick chess

Hi, I'm new to the forum, but I've been playing here for a while now. Just now, I was playing someone (bullet). He got mad after the third game. He said:

"I DETEST TRICK CHESS

BEAT IT

PUNK"

Now, my question is: what is "trick chess"? I've searched on the internet but i didn't find anything. (only stuff about chess tricks)

I didn't try to use some dirty trick to win or anything, but it's possible, by accident, i did something he perceived as "dirty".

He probably just thought you were cheating.

Been at the receiving end of this a lot ... so here's my two cents : There are two kinds of bullet chess players.   Those who are really strong "slow chess" players who are capable of playing sound quality chess all the way till the last second...and then there's players like me who, when under time pressure will start monkeying around and trying every dirty little "legal" move to distract/confuse and play cheapos hoping to flag the opponent.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm still playing within the rules of the game and flagging my opponent by any means possible is a race-condition madness inducing  but still  "legal" way of winning. Though it is quite easy to appear like a epic level a-hole to the more purist/touchy players out there when you play a move that is intended to purely burn their clock.   Of course, they can stop playing bullet and give their egos some TLC at a game that involves "less" tricks.

Hmm, I didn't try at all to cheat or make his time run out... Actually I was winning, but my time ran out (I only needed 1 move to mate). Probably he was just suspicious or something...

Thanks for the responses

I think he was probably referring to you setting up one-move tactics (or similar) and then him failing to notice said tactics due to the time control. There is nothing wrong with playing like this (though I wouldn't recommend it for long-term improvement!).
