Types of Chess? How it affects ratings and what is your favourite?

Hi all, can someone plz explain the different types of games on here, I know what rapid is but i havnt played any of the other types of games yet, can someone explain what Bullet, Daily, Daily 960 and Blitz are? i think Blitz is just like a 3 min game or something but i am not sure, Also if ur rating in bullet is say 700 but ur only 500 in Blitz does that mean ur rating is 600 overall or do u hav a different rating for each variation. Sorry if its a dumb question but i am still pretty new to chess so plz be kind hahaa, and finally just curious as to what type of games u all play, i do like Rapid, probably dont hav the attention span for a classical or traditional game (or whatever the really long games are called) i find 10 -20 min games are good for me tho i do need to work on my speed as i always seem to be at a big time disadvantage. I have played mostly 10 min games so far but think maybe i shud try sum more 20 min games until i get a lil better, hope to hear sum of ur thoughts and opinions, cheers n hope y`all hav a great day..

A ‘Rapid chess’ game is one where either all the moves must be completed in a fixed time of more than 10 minutes but less than 60 minutes for each player; or the time allotted plus 60 times any increment is of more than 10 minutes but less than 60 minutes for each player.

B.1
A ‘blitz’ game is one where all the moves must be completed in a fixed time of 10 minutes or less for each player; or the allotted time plus 60 times any increment is 10 minutes or less.

Official FIDE time controls are 90|30, 15|10, 5|3 and 3|2.
90|30 is straining to the eyes to play online.
Blitz is fun, but does not help you improve.
Bullet is all about speed.
Daily is correspondence at 1 move / day.
Daily 960 is correspondence at 1 move/day but starting from one of 960 random initial positions also known as Fischer random after its inventor Robert J. Fischer.
There are different ratings for each class of time controls.
Best online time control is 15|10. You never lose on time and you have increment to win or draw.

Bullet is games where each side has less than 3 minutes. 1 0 would be one minute bullet.

Blitz games give each player somewhere from 3 minutes to 9:59. 

Rapid is ten minutes and over.

960 is a variant of chess where the setup of the non-pawns is shuffled around to try to avoid the use of memorized openings.

There is no "overall rating" although for purposes of titles, only games played over the board in rated tournaments count.
