bump?
UI custom mods

Hi! New to the site. I am getting a feel for it. But I see that there is very little customization, is there any sort of rule against creating your own assets for pieces and boards etc? Especially if you stream?
Like, I would only create stuff that affects my end and just aesthetically. Is that frowned upon? Like if I created say a Nintendo themed board. Mario vs Zelda: Goombas for white pawns and Koroks for black pawns, for example. And I streamed it, making it clear that this is something I made, not a feature of the site. is that a no no? I know it's legal but I want to know more about it.
This isn't an official answer, but I can't see why changing assets client-side would be an issue, if you're willing to put up with potential problems.
If you want to get a more official answer, you can ask support, but it may take a little time for them to get back to you.

Hi JambiShog
AFAIK, there ain't no rules or restrictions against customising your chess.com screen when you stream. I do it all the time.
See my Mario/Mickey Mouse hand grabber mouse icon? That's the click-and-drag effect shown as a cartoonish hand cursor icon file. That's among the many customisations I do for my screens.
Here's what my mouse cursor looks like when hovering over a chess piece.
Other mods visible in the screenshot are:
- Graffiti pieces have a visible shadow/thicker black border than the stock vanilla Graffiti piece set
- Chessboard is using my own blue gradient colours
- Fonts have been changed
- Nation flags are larger and more detailed
- Clock numbers and fonts are customised
- Connection status bars customised in color (green)
All done using CSS and the Stylus Chrome extension.
