You really should ask Facebook, since that was something they created and supported. But according to a reddit post from March of this year it was shut down.
Yeah that stopped working a while ago, but all for the best, the kids playing chess over Facebook probably don't know notation, witch was actually required to play.

I'm just curious because I don't know much about theses things... what would be the advantages in playing chess via some 3rd party?
