I played in my last US chess tournament when I was eight in 2008. Today I re-registered for US chess (new.uschess.org/), using a new email, phone, address. I tried to put down the USCF ID to link to my new registration, and now I am given a new USCF ID. So now I am wondering will my rating from 2008 persist in my new account? Is there another way to look up my rating, besides using the uschess.org site, on the ratings tab? (The player/rating lookup tool is down right now.)
You can contact the US Chess office and they should transfer/merge the accounts. You'll end up using the old ID and keep the old rating. If you sign up for an event before it's fixed, you should notify the TD of it, for an OTB event..
