Should be in off topic i think?
please stop going to the ESA site and copying what they have on there about videogames and the economy. I'm trying to do a paper on it for my english class and i keep finding that most of the articles written on video games and the economy have been stolen from the ESA website. it doesn't make you seem smart to write an article that's already been written and stolen by several other people. It just makes it harder for people like me who are actually trying to find information on the internet. thank you.

Video games make it so jobs can be created
Michael Gallagher, CEO of ESA, explained that job creation has grown at a "rapid pace.” It is also making "an essential contribution to our nation's economy while stimulating technological innovations and expanding the impact of games on our daily lives." The average salary of a video game industry worker is about $ 89,781. There are generally about 32,000 individuals working also. Directly or indirectly, the video game industry employs more than 120,000 people in the United States.
California does it all
California has had a lot of video game industry workers living there. In fact, it is the largest employer of them. Compensation was a big part of their spending budget in 2009. $ 2.6 billion was given to direct and indirect employees. The state got about $ 2.1 billion in just revenue.
Texas has 13,613 employees with Washington at 11,225. Between 2005 and 2009, Virginia increased their video game industry. There was a 77 percent increase.
Why entertainment is so valuable
A recession means budget cuts in families. Usually entertainment is a part of this. Video gaming is pricey with PCs costing a ton and consoles being anywhere from $ 200 to $ 500. You are looking at more for the games too. $ 20 to $ 60 is needed for each game. Whenever you buy a video game, you do not realize that 40 to 100 hours is spent on each one of the games. It may be better to do that than to buy movies, which are getting more expensive. Video games can really help struggling kids. It helps with development and hand-eye coordination. The video game industry has had a optimistic effect. The U.S. economy is feeling it.
