I used my last name. Coo?
USER NAMES

Yeah Artch is a name. I'd remember it if you did some incredible set of moves that left me thinking.
It's all the jfert44d names. I don't know who I'm playing. It's completely impersonal. No drama. For example:
id56xp vs sx65ip - who cares
If someday you can not sleep due to small light on the floor, just think about me, darkener... And soon it gets dark...

I originally wanted the username "iPadChess" but somebody got it back in 3/20/11 and only used it for one day and never came back. I wanted the name because I use my iPad 98% of the time. So I ended up with the name I have now "iMacChess". I do have an iMac that I think is the greatest computer ever, but I play mostly chess with my iPad. I think they should close accounts if they are dormant for over a year and reuse the username...

What's wrong with having numbers in your user name? I have numbers in mine because it has personal meaning. It's wrong of you to assume that anything not fitting in your idealized model of the world should be molded into something acceptable to you. I, for one, find it insulting fo you to think such a thing, whether conciously or subconciously. Yet, I'm not going to try to shape you into somethign you are not because that isn't acceptable to me. Be more open as an individual and don't be condescending towards others' decisions. Besides, who are you to decide how user names should be on a site you don't own?

Ownership of the site is neither here nor there Chasm. If you read my thread I'm not bashing numbers per se. Orwell1984..a birth day, an important number, fine. My point is really, that great artists like Duchamp adored chess, so a bit of creativity wouldn't go a miss, and if it adds to the sense of drama or fun, all the better. Foes, rivals, friends, should be recognisable. If I play MXgf78k and MG76fgi will I remember either one, no.The whole point of a name is that it is a recognisable social marker, and to be recognisable it has to be memorable, one could argue. I've played my top rival 16 times, so my stats say, do I remember his name, of course not. I don't even remember playing fggr54g.

Please get behind this.
