Variants: Automate

In the Variants section, there is one game type that is called Automate. For some reason when I press on the place where it says Automate, it leads me to my homepage. I do not know why. The second thing is that what types of strategy's do people use in Automate? 

I have seen people use the all knights and pawns strategy using only these pieces:

Please tell me any other strategy's for automate and why my automate does not work.

It looks like Automate is still flagged for beta testers only. I've asked staff about it.

but I have seen my friend be able to do it.

I can’t even find it. And it sounds like a very cool variant.
