Vote Chess Saboteurs

I have subscribed to a number of Vote Chess games over the last few months and it seems evident that there is at least one person in many games that tries to make the first vote some outlandish move that is sure to lose material or the game.  It's seem very obvious in one game I'm playing that they are looking for losing moves.

Has anyone else noticed this?  Speculation on motives?

do this people play as bad in their other games? I mean the ones that are not voted.

I noticed this particularly because it's a small group with few voters so it seems apparent because the first sometimes only move is always weak, often leaving pieces en prise.  So I started to notice that in all the vote chess games there are some spectacularly poor moves nearly every turn and quite often votes to resign even when the team is clearly ahead.

Perhaps it's a reflection of a type of player that's drawn to play chess.

They really may be just beginners. I use to do that all the time.  :)

That may be, and it may not always be the same person.  I'm still not convinced however.  And you would NEVER have made some of the moves I've seen.

Yes sometimes people wants to vote for a bad move....

It's strange but it's part of the game I guest

You've probably got a troll in your group. Are any of the group members known for making troll posts in the general forum (not the group forum)?

Motives of s troll? Mostly they're just lonely. Mad, because their mommies didn't hug them enough.

No worries though. If it's a private game, they should be easy to identify, and boot. If not, order everybody to post their votes copy/paste.

If its a public game, their votes will be too few to matter.

Fire works well against trolls. It even works against normal people, so if you have any matches left over, you don't have to waste them.

Well, I posted this over 2 years ago and am surprised to see the traffic.  I solved the problem for myself by not getting into Vote chess with people I don't know.   I will take a look for trolls if I ever run into again.

Solutions range from fire to hugs???  hmmmm....
