Do not worry about openings. Just develop your pieces and play for the center.
"it's mostly same thing" that perception is wrong. How about professional players who have played hundreds of games along the same lines. The seemingly small differences sometimes make a huge difference.
You can also play chess960.
Way to make chess less boring?

Find a show that makes you want to play chess like the Netflix show "Queens Gambit" or just don't play chess for a bit i think you're a bit dried up

I get the impression that there is more than enough in any opening to keep me busy for the foreseeable future. I cannot claim exhaustive knowledge of any opening, and any game is interesting to me. Even if I get positions I've seen before, there are always some nuances, and I always learn something new. That's just me. If you want an even more vast gamespace then you can try the asian game, Go (also known as weiqi and baduk). That's very cool game, too.

Try playing Capablanca chess, I find it interesting. Not sure why it's not available in correspondence chess, or live chess here.

Well, chess became boring for me because same openings keep poping up and I dropped from 1700 to 1300 to have some fun, but still same thing. Is there a way to make a chess fun again or it's a game of memorization of patterns and openings? I just don't find it fun like it used to be :/
Now and then some interesting games comes up, but overall it's mostly same thing and I don't find it fun to learn computer moves for openings and counter openings.
Try some variants such as Chess960, Bughouse and Fog of War. All can be accessed via the ‘Variants’ tab on ‘Play’.
