What is the supposed knock on Paul Truong in relation to So and/or the rest of the chess world?

I have been a fan of Judit Polgar's games and have looked at some of Susan's training videos before (though not many).  I know she's married to Paul.  I'm curious what the issue with Paul has been for those who seem to speak poorly of him (I think I saw a negative comment about him in another thread or on YouTube comments before)...just merely curious.

In a nutshell - Paul is, at best, a sh*t-stirrer. At worst a fraud.

I read that Paul had some involvement with So's real mother coming to St. Louis and meeting him during the US chess championship. Both his ex-coaches and his ex(?)-family would like him to continue his studies at Webster. But his and his new family's plans seem to be different.

thegreat_patzer

even with my tin hat- would you exactly please explain the conspiracy?

Mr So was pressured to leave webster. ok.  his new friend wants him to compete in the highest tournaments of the world.  check. He has a troubling fisher like self-absorbed personality.  Got it....

so what the heck is the conspiracy?!  is something awesome/awful/unethical or immoral happening?  I don't get it.

I mean, if there was some kind of vast cheating pen; that spit out motivational reminders that actually were code for some cool critical analyzed chess.... but even then; it was all stamped out.

and now with everyones eye firmly fixed on his scorecard.   he's doing great.  whoppin' everybody except carlsen-  and following the rules.  its a lotta gossip and some other dudes problem.

The theory is that Lotis key has "brainwashed" Wesley So into thinking that she, a relative stranger, is his savior. She is making him believe that she is a necessary requirement in his life. No need for college, no need for real family, no need for savings, etc. Key is possibly forcing So to lean too heavily on religion and trust in her. Just a bit weird, not typical, and a conspiracy because we don't know the truth.

fabelhaft

And the basis for this conspiracy theory is that a young man aged 21 prefers to spend his time on something he is top ten in the world in rather than studying under the supervision of unpleasant characters Polgar/Truong? If I recall correctly the only thing So asked about his savings was why the bank claimed they weren't where his family claimed they were, and asked if he could get control of the account where that money was supposed to be. He also added something about that this question could also be answered in public by his family now that they have started publishing selective passages of his mails.

If you're going to authoritatively speak about something you shouldn't miss basic facts. Conrad Holt never went to Webster. He's UTD.
