What can philosophers teach chess players?

I like this quotation; never heard it before, but I like it. 

Chess being an intrinsically mental-tasking game, I'd say that philosophy (and psychology, and logic, and pretty much any study of the mental mindset) can indirectly teach a lot to a chess player.
