What do you think about the idea of Alexandra Botez acting in a movie as a spanish Beth Harmon?

If creepy old men like you are attracted, then her acting career will go well, I imagine.

Do I have to say she's ugly?  .I don't get why people in this forum is so dense.

"She has the looks" is an odd comment considering Beth Harmon, the character, is defined by her difficult past, drug usage, and chess talent at a young age. Therefore the qualifications for the actress playing her would be something like age 20-30 and having done some work in dramas.

It seems your analysis didn't go beyond saving pictures of her to your PC and posting about how you find her attractive.

She doesn't look like a fish. Her eyes aren't on the sides of her head. SHE DOESN'T FIT THE PROFILE!

So no, she doesn't have "the looks". She is actually attractive, not downright bizarre looking like "Beth".

What about this girl? I think she's has HUGE... talent... and could play Beth Harmon as well.

She doesn't look human for a different reason... But... She still doesn't look human, so sure!

First of all, Alex Botez is not Spanish, she is Romanian (but born and raised in Canada and lived much of her adult life in America).

Secondly, American is a nationality, not an ethnicity.

This post reeks of prejudice .

Pulpofeira

Why not? Mandy Patinkin was a great Íñigo Montoya.

I would like to see a film about real existing grandmasters with interesting story.

There was a film about Fisher. What about a film about Viktor Korchnoi and his dramatic fight with Anatoly Karpov? The only disadvantages are: No stunning woman and no happy end.

Hollywood doesn't like to make movies where the Russians are the "good guys". Korchnoi may have switched federations to France, may have had his family being held hostage by the Soviet authorities during the match, and may have been subjected to psychological manipulation by various sources, but he was still just a "Russian" (and supposedly most American audiences would find it hard to sympathize with him).
