It signifies lag, if you hover over the box, then it shows if you have high lag, medium lag, low lag, and almost no lag at all for a full green bar.
Green online, orange/redish they are playing live. Never seen it different sizes.

I had a lag once 
u will have lag whenever u play a game,,some things,,, if ur net is slow ,,,ur lag is high and red color

Not sure why that box is sometimes 100% green like a fully charged battery on an Iphone or 25% red. Does this indicate the speed of the Internet connection?
