What happened to Magnus Carlsen here?

I used to be able to pull up his profile and study his games, when he was a member. That alone was a great advantage to being a member of the number one chess site in the world. Now he is gone from here, like Bobby Fischer vanished from the chess world. Does anyone know why? We still have plenty of GM's here, but miss being able to brag to my friends that the world chess champion plays here. After his appearance on 60 minutes he became bigger than chess. Was the profile of him, with the drawing of his face a fake account? Did he feel his presence here should be compensated? I have all kinds of theories floating in my head.

I though was still here. Look at the blitz and bullet leaderboard, is he not there any longer?

Billkingplayschess

Nope... can't find him anywhere. Can you?

My best guess, it could have been a reaction to finishing second in Biel, with the WCC looming on the horizon, Carlsen may have decided he needed to go back to focusing on just being the best and getting his opening prep in order, before the match is played.

 There.

That is quite odd, somehow his account is removed from rating lists, etc, but isn't inactive or anything like that....quite peculiar...

He has several accounts at another site and he plays there quite often, which I won't name. He still comes here but rarely, like he skipped the latest SCC.

Maybe he don't like V3....

....if you want to know where Dr Drunkenstein plays, watch the agadmator channel on Youtube

The thing seems to be that no one is really able to give a challenge to Carlsen online. Maybe Naka and a couple other will entertain him in bullet but look at the stats. So maybe he quit out of boredom.

still be beats them by drinking beer with his right hand and the mouse in his left

Thanks for finding him! If I need to take a break from bullet I can study some of his games. The one on uTube, where he spanks Bill Gates, was amazing. Mated him in 12 moves while giving himself a triple handicap on time.

Mostly likely per his contract with Chess24 he can't be on this site at the moment. He currently plays there as a player in Chess24's Banterblitz format.

Carlson has proved himself to be the best again and again. Chess has changed since the inception of the chess engines phenomenon. Anybody with good chess talents can use the engines to be pretty good players. And there are too many anti carlson. They would be losers because Carlson can beat their favourite player. So why dedicate your life to the losers. Well done Magnus, you've given me hours of enjoyment and you will be missed. And thank you for game six from the last world's companionship.

Who is Carlson? What happened to him so that he will be missed? What is the "world's companionship"? So many questions.
