As the title suggests my question, what is a trophy on chess.com?

It's essentially just a little icon with a fixed or sometimes a custom message that you can put in your virtual "trophy cabinet" for you and other people to see.
Other members can send you a trophy; Chess.com will agive you a trophy for certain thigns as well, such as placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a Live Chess tournament and on the anniversary date of you joining.
It's a validation of your existence, a sign that you count, you matter, you're not just a dying ember in the barbecue of life.

Most are not really "trophies" they are more just like fun messages players send to each other.

You have to win real trophies.
You should enter some tournaments. You may lose the first ten or even the first 100 you enter but if you keep trying hard and don't give up, you will improve and you will eventually win something.
