ha thats so funny nice one
1400~1800 rapid and 2500~3050 puzzle, both heavily fluctuating and i dunno even why. some days i'm fighting with rare 1850s pretty much on par, and the other days i'm struggling against the commonfolks 1400s. And i'm talking about streaks, not about once-in-a-lifetime games. The latter are more like against legendary 2000s n stuff. And irl rating is similarly. i'm about 1350 last time i checked and barely drew against an 1150 guy and lost another against a 1020 guy, but easily drew against an 1850 guy and won 3 times in a row against the same 1750 guy.
i dunno, i feel like i have somehow only learned to play against better/understandable players yet. But maybe it's also because other guys aren't challenging enough.
And about the puzzles... Guys, the entire atmosphere of those 2000~2200 puzzles isnt comparable with the 2700~2900 puzzles! Down there, it's always like "check, check, mate" and the decision between "you shall take that pawn" and "haha you fell for the poisoned pawn".. But up there, it's about carefully calculating different sample lines, just to get through to the actual candidate moves; and about the need of discarding the previous strategy on demand; and about stopping the habit of relying on one's intuition, because sometimes i looks like a sacrifice thing but turns out to not work, but only after 8+moves in calculation.
