Playing multiple games at same time and keeping the same level of ''understanding concepts/strategy/thinking etc.'' on every game.
What is the hardest thing to do in chess?

Actually, the best positional advantage would be at the defensive edge on a game..either white or black

Ive always found beating the worlds top GM's without losing a piece pretty tricky. I only manage it about 3/4 of the times I play them.
You call that hard? You've not seen my attempts to beat the top-10 in a clock simul then. At knight odds. Seriously, there were moments I thought I wouldn't make it!

No matter what rating you are or your opponent is, no matter what time limit there is, there has to be something that stands out as the hardest thing in chess. I would say winning is the hardest thing, but I would like to hear other opinions.
I'd say keeping your concentration level and your energy for many hours of play

Well I'm gonna change it up a bit... N+B mating is hard, but you never do it. Winning won games can be tough, but mental focus should be enough...
Passed pawns kill me! The defense is easy: Blockade the pawn...
Having one is so much harder ... A passed pawn (all things being equal) is usually an asset... at the same time an Isolated pawn is generally a weakness ... So which one is it? How in the world can you figure out if creating a passed pawn favours you or not ... It's a positional decision, almost impossible to calculate...
Drives me nuts... been asking masters for over a year now and still haven't gotten a good answer.

The hardest thing is definately trying to make sense of weird material imbalances. In a game recently my opponent had a chance to get 3 pieces for his queen and I'm glad he chose a normal move
