You get access to verified only events, such as the Chess.com World Championships and they mentioned there will be more events as well.

As to crpytocurrency, it obviously has value if you can buy things with it or exchange it for cash, which can be done.

It may have some value, but why rely on an unstable form of currency? Cryptocurrency has unreliable dips and spikes that make it a terrible investment.

I use real cash and my credit cards I use doge-coin as a joke to my friends

While many users are holding crypto as an investment, it's not really meant to be that. It's meant to be a decentralized currency, usable by anyone, anywhere, without interference by governmental entities or central banks.

The fact is that people use it to buy things and other accept it, so it has value.

Faker-kun

It’s not a value to some people like me

What does NFT even stand for

NFT means non-fungible token

I don’t understand what’s that either, but okay.

I can’t believe I have to explain this. it means non-interchangeable unit of data

I haven’t asked for explaination though

Faker-kun

I didn’t mean to say explain

Why are there chess NFT's?!!! What are they and why would anyone want to buy a chess NFT? Am I the only one who thinks this new feature is a waste of time?

I don't think it's a waste of time, but a criminal scam. But yeah, we agree on the uselessness.

Value is determined by those willing to buy things. If someone buys something, it has value to them at least.

Either that, or they were tricked into believing it has value and scammed out of their money.

Let’s make a rebellion,Every time we see an NFT,Let’s screenshot the NFT and send it through private message/through forums

for me, it doesn't even work: There is just written "Blunder the team is informed about that problem"

Pretty sure people already are, I know I have cancelled my Chess membership and prolly never will buy it again as the main reason I had it was just to support this place. Don't want to support a place that demonstrates how greedy they really are though and external tools and websites can be used for most things that are offered here for game analysis.

This has to be one of the worst PR blunders I've seen in the chess world since Karjakin

I think I'm going to post this link everywhere here. It pretty much sums up NFTs.

That's not something I'm particularly interested in. If I ever did something like that it would either be a way to raise funds for someone that I know (some kind of benefit) or for an organization. But I would would probably just donate the value instead.

Not that I would try and prevent anyone from doing if they wanted to.

Treasure Chess was created through a partnership with Nifty Chess, yet in this article, they don't even mention Nifty Chess (still some helpful info though):
