What is wrong with some of you? (trash talking)

I'm not a fan of trash talking and just want to play chess.

I only really started this year and got really annoyed when people would message me, even in Russia just to shout "HURRY UP!" or "YOU LOSE" or something. It's distracting and unpleasant. 

Luckily I discovered you can turn off chat on chess.com. This solved most of my problems. However recently I noticed that Chess.com will inform me, even though I have turned off chatting that "Your opponent wants to chat!". I obviously don't respond, I wait till after the game and then message them to ask what they wanted to chat about...it's so strange....they never reply. 

 Recently one guy somehow logged in to another browser and messaged me while playing, and while I had chat turned off. Again, super distracting and annoying. 

So my question is, what's wrong with some of you?

I think they just wanted to make you lose focus

What's wrong with some of us is that we feel the need to talk garbage when we're not happy with the position on our board.

Sometimes, when someone is talking to me I forget to listen to them. What were you saying again?

some people love spicing it up and its so exhilarating 💕

Anonymity.  When people are able to not be face to face it does things to some. 

Think of it as electronic alcohol.

a lot of the site plays faster time controls, so most people just chat instead of thinking in longer time controls

first of all i have destroyed you so many times, you are just trash, secondly, did you see the analysis? you were getting totally destroyed until i blundered. you are a fking ape.

not sure why this chessplayer said this to me. but trust me i get this forum. this player wins me all the time and i win once and they go up one side a me & dn the other.

in forums, you usually find trash talkers with an ability to make stupid arguments look smart

some of these forums lasted for hours even days till the user got banned

I say write whatever the hell you want in the chat just for the love of God resign and don't abandon the game you piece of subhuman cocaroach, have some manners. (you know who you are)

chat in game is not chat outside the game

there is a chat for the game

then there is a personal chat

op turned off the first, and then is wondering why the second is still on

It's the human nature. Maybe read '48 laws of power' for more insight.
